I got a text from Matt. They are at the hospital and Tristan will be born very soon. Since it was one of those group texts, I responded "do you want me to come?". He said she's in a lot of pain and doesn't want anyone there right now. I asked him to let me know later how Tristan is. And I'm leaving it at that. I don't want to sound like a cold-hearted bitch, but I'm not going to go to the hospital. I'm going to go for a long walk and, in my heart, celebrate that today my grandson is being born.
And have a good cry.

Congratulations, grandma - or will you prefer some other honorific? Seems like hardly anyone uses a grandmother designation these days. They make cards now for "Nana" - not sure what will be next. Hope all goes well, and the emotions calm down a little so you can enjoy each other.
hope that when Tristan arrives, Andie will be more reasonable ... take care.
@suzyQ_darnit - I wanted a cool and fun name, but couldn't come up with one. When I hear "grandma", I think of my grandmas or my mom-my sons' grandma.
@knickersinaknot - Thank you about the text. Of course I'm worried that it will be misinterpreted by Matt. So I was glad to hear that someone understood what I was trying to say. I'm not going to post anything on FB. Right now I'm staying off of there as far as posting. The three of us have too many friends in common and I am trying not to do/say the wrong thing. But I will post here as soon as I know.
@leopardditz - funny, I never thought of it like that. I will settle for being plain ol' "gramma"...some day.
